DANNY GENTRY
Principal. Founder of Covered.

Made by someone who's been in the building.

Being out shouldn't mean
letting your class down.

I've watched good teachers stay up until midnight, sick, writing plans nobody could follow. I built Covered so you can take care of yourself and still give your students a real day of learning.

A few things you might be wondering.

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Still have one? Ask Danny ↗

I teach five subjects. Is that five orders?

No. One order is your whole day, however many blocks or preps you teach. Tell us where each class is, and each subject or prep gets its own lesson.

Does this work for my grade level?

Covered supports kindergarten through high school. In K–2, the substitute reads the lesson aloud and children work on paper. In grades 3 and up, students can read, write, and answer on their own page. You tell us about reading levels, devices, and the support your class needs.

What if the wifi is down?

Your sub gets a printable packet with the entire day on paper, including the exit ticket. Print it before class starts, and the day runs either way.

Who writes and checks the lessons?

I'm Danny Gentry, a principal. I use an AI model to draft each lesson against a detailed instructional standard, then automated checks review it and I review the day before it ships. If I haven't reviewed it by 5:15 a.m., a day that passed the automated checks ships so your plan arrives on time. If it didn't pass, you get a refund and a fallback packet, and I get alerted.

I'll be out three days. Can you do that?

Yes. It's $19 for the first day and $12 for each additional day ($43 for three), up to five days. Choose your dates after checkout. Each later day's lesson is written the evening before, using the previous day's results and your sub's note. You can skip a date when school isn't in session.

What about my students' privacy?

Students use a class code, first name, and last initial. No student accounts, email addresses, or district logins. Written responses are deleted 30 days after the last day of your absence.

I found out at 9 p.m. Can I still order?

Yes. The 8 p.m. cutoff is for personal review. Later orders still get written and delivered by 6 a.m., but rely more on the automated checks. Delivery and review times follow Pacific time.

What if it doesn't work?

If it doesn't run, you don't pay. Reply to any email from me and I'll refund the $19 for your day. No form to fill out.
